“Cut out the fat and you’ll get thin”. Sounds simple, right? This is what I believed for a long time. My diet consisted of a lot of low-fat and fat-free products. I avoided all types of fat as much as I could. But after a few years of eating this way and gaining weight, I realized something was wrong. Then, I started reading the work of Dr Mark Hyman and Dr William Cole and finally learned the truth behind low-fat/fat-free products.
Low fat/fat free products are typically highly processed and loaded with processed sugar and chemicals that are NOT good for you. These products definitely don’t help you lose weight, and more importantly they are not good for your health. In fact, high sugar consumption is linked to nearly every major chronic disease today.
Fat does not make us get sick and gain weight. The problem with fat is that people tend to consume a lot of the highly processed stuff. To incorporate healthy fats into your diet focus on things like avocado, pastured eggs, coconut oil, raw nuts, grass fed beef and wild caught salmon.
Please, please don’t fall for the food and diet industry tricks that make you think their low-fat and fat-free products are healthy and good for you.
