Hi, I’m Adri!
I’m a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. I help women heal their metabolism and their relationship with food so that they can burn more fat, slim down, and prevent chronic disease (without restriction!).
Here’s a little bit more about me:
I’m a born-and-raised Colombian girl who moved to the United States at 17 years old to go to university.
I went from eating fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy homemade meals to eating the processed food that is often served in college cafeterias in the US.
Even though I played varsity tennis (exercised for 3 hours every day), I gained the common “freshman 15” pounds.
Desperate to lose weight, I became obsessed with dieting…
So I tried a lot of different diets, but I could never stick to anything for more than a few days. I didn’t have the “willpower”.
I’d often end up telling myself: “I already ruined my diet today so I might as well indulge for the rest of the week and start a new diet on Monday”.
When I realized I couldn’t really stick to a diet, I started eating only non-fat, low-fat foods, and diet frozen meals…
…and I started forcing myself to do extra workouts each week – which I didn’t enjoy!
I took advice from several nutritionists and personal trainers but still wasn’t getting the results I wanted.
The more I tried to lose weight, the harder it seemed to be. I wasn’t making any progress!
FINALLY, SOMETHING CLICKED!
Restrictive dieting and punishing exercise had damaged my metabolism. My body was in “survival weight gain mode”.
It was time to make a change. I started focusing on healing my metabolism, rather than trying to follow restrictive diets. And then the weight started coming off…
I LOST OVER 12 KGS!
I was finally able to find a balanced way of eating and a lifestyle that enabled me to not only lose weight but also feel amazing!
Seeing my own transformation, motivated me to join the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and become a certified Holistic Nutrition Health Coach.
I’ve been able to heal my relationship with food and with my body, and I’m here to help you do the same.
