If you feel…
- Guilty about not being able to stick to a diet for more than a few weeks
- Frustrated for not being able to lose weight no matter what you do
- Confused about what you should be eating
You’re at the right place. I’m here to help you because I’ve been there.
Just a few years ago, I had an unhealthy relationship with food and with my body.
My Story:
I moved to the United States at age 17 to go to college. This meant going from eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and healthy homemade meals in my home country Colombia, to eating all the processed food that is served in college cafeterias in the US. Obviously, I gained weight, the usual “freshman 15” pounds. At the time, I didn’t really understand why I had gained weight. I was playing tennis in the varsity team so I exercised for at least 3 hours a day.
When I started feeling like I needed to lose weight, I became a little obsessed with dieting. I tried different diets. I say “tried” because I could never really stick to a diet for more than a few days. I didn’t have the strong willpower you require to follow a strict diet. Often, I’d end up telling myself “I already ruined my diet today so I might as well indulge for the rest of the week and start the diet on Monday”. When I realized I couldn’t really stick to a diet, I started eating only non-fat, low-fat foods, and diet frozen meals. And I started forcing myself to do a few extra workouts each week. Workouts I didn’t enjoy at all. The more I tried to lose weight, the harder it seemed to be. I was not losing any weight. I felt unhappy with the way my body looked. I used to wish I could be like the skinny girls that ate bread, pasta, and dessert everyday and never gained weight.
Finally, something clicked!
I needed to change my mindset. I needed to take care of my body from a place of love, gratitude and appreciation. This new mindset helped me find a balanced way of eating that enabled me to not only lose weight, but also become healthier, happier and more confident than ever. Seeing my own transformation, motivated me to join the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and become a certified Nutrition Health Coach.
Today, I’m here to help you quit fad dieting forever, heal your relationship with food and with your body, and reach your ideal weight. You deserve to have a body that you love. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be healthy.
